How do I break up with my boyfriend and stay friends?

I have never broken up with a guy face to face. And when we first started dating, he told me that if I ever wanted to stay friends, that I need to say it to his face. That he would lose respect for me if I didn't. And I tried, but I can't do it. I have a plan to have my friend talk to him, and try and convince him to break up with me instead. But... if it doesn't work it looks like I'll have to say it to his face. Any other plans?How do I break up with my boyfriend and stay friends?
I agree with the other guy. It just doesnt always work out the way you want it to. It's obviously going to be tuff for him and he's not gunna want to be be freinds with you at first, just give him space for a good amount of time and he will relize that he wants to be freinds with you.How do I break up with my boyfriend and stay friends?
doing it face to face is much better than text or instant messenger .. i wouldn't ask your friends to do it for you i think things would just get worse b'coz he would think that you are just scared and not bothered about his reaction .. just ask to talk to him and explain to him your not feeling the same as how you did and that as much as you did like him you want to stay close friends,x good luck
